Islington Council is running a series of free community cycle rides throughout 2012 to encourage people of all ages to cycle, helping to boost confidence and increase physical activity. It is an ideal day out for families with young children, helping them appreciate the beautiful sights and scenery Islington has to offer, whilst at the same time teaching them important road safety skills.
The scheme is being run in partnership with Barclays and Bike Club, and each event involves a short ride across the borough. The route will vary slightly each time to allow cyclists to enjoy a slightly different view of the borough and will be marshalled by trained instructors and experienced cyclists. Everyone who finishes will also receive a free Barclays goody bag!
Dates: 3 August, 10 August, 2 November
Location: Rosemary Gardens, Sherborne Street, N1
Time: 11am (the ride should take approximately two hours, including a rest stop)
If you are interested in joining one of the events please complete the online booking form http://www.islington.gov.uk/online_survey/islington-by-bike.asp, indicating your preferred date. For further information, contact David Shannon by email david.shannon@islington.gov.uk or on 020 7527 4082.
